$1,000 Scholarships Available Through PPGA!
The Pacific Propane Gas Association (PPGA) Scholarship Fund was established by a committed group of volunteers. Its purpose is to foster educational opportunities for the children of current employees of PPGA by offering undergraduate scholarships to colleges or vocational/technical/trade schools. The Scholarships are awarded in honor of R.M. Dick Start, of Yakima, WA. Dick Start made tireless contributions to the propane industry and his community in the State of Washington. The PPGA Dick Start Scholarships are funded by generous contributions from member individuals and companies.
The Dick Start Scholarship Program is for graduating seniors whose parent is employed by a PPGA member. The program is for PPGA members, their employees and their families who are attending or planning to attend any community college, university, vocational or technical school. Each year, the PPGA awards up to four scholarships between $500-$1,000 each. The application deadline for the 2021-22 academic year is March 25, 2022.

WPERC Scholarship Program
The Western Propane Gas Association will award scholarships of $500-$3,000 each to students entering an accredited vocational/technical school or college/university. The scholarship will be paid to the recipient or to the comptroller of the school where the scholarship winner is enrolled, in accordance with the school’s specific requirements.
All candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Graduating senior from a high school in Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Nevada, Utah, Washington or Wyoming with a minimum 2.5 grade point average;
- Provisionally accepted as a student into an undergraduate degree program by an accredited vocational/technical school or college/university;
- A dependent of an employee of a member in good standing, or a dependent of an employee who retired within the last 12 months from a member company in good standing with the Arizona Propane Gas Association, Nevada Propane Dealers Association, Pacific Propane Gas Association, Rocky Mountain Propane Gas Association or Western Propane Gas Association.

NPGA Scholarship Fund
The National Propane Gas Foundation (NPGF) Scholarship Fund was established in 1993 by a committed group of energized volunteers. Its purpose is to foster educational opportunities for the children of National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) or state association member companies along with PERC employee children by offering scholarships to colleges or vocational/technical/trade schools. The fund provides nonrenewable scholarships in the amounts of $1,000 and $2,000. Scholarships are funded from the Scholarship Fund endowment earmarked for that purpose and managed by NPGF.
